“This piece was written as a reflection of my musical journey, and the title is a play on words based on the street that I grew up on (Suncrest Avenue). I began writing the piece when I first started playing the double seconds, and it evolved over the years into what the piece is now with my current outlook and understanding of the instrument and what it does well. I have been actively pushing the boundaries of what the steel pan is capable of, and I composed this piece to create more opportunities for steel pan to be featured in mixed ensembles (such as the percussion ensemble).” – Jason Sivert. Instrumentation: Double Seconds, Drum Set, Glockenspiel, Vibraphone, 5-octave Marimba, 4.3-octave Marimba, Timpani, String Quartet. MIDI Available
