Uploads & Sales

How long will it take for my score to be made available on the site?

The length of time it takes for a music score to be made available on our site depends on the permissions PanNotation will be to acquire. If the user is the composer and arranger of the work, then the processing time can take 3 - 5 business days. If the user is the arranger, and the composer has already given us permission to sell arrangements of his/her score, then the process will also take 3 - 5 business days. If PanNotation would need to acquire permission from a composer and/or arranger, the processing time will depend on how quickly he or she responds and agrees to the sale of his/her score.

I am an arranger and I have a number of scores that I would like to make available for purchase, however, I have not acquired permission from the composer. What do I do?

You’re in the right place. Click on our “Upload” tab and follow our upload instructions. Once your scores have been submitted to us, PanNotation then begins acquiring permission from the various composers on your behalf. Scores are only made available on the site when the composer(s) and arranger(s) have given written consent and agree to the distribution agreement.

I am a composer but I have not registered with a Collective Management Organization or have not registered for Copyright, can I still upload my music for sale?

PanNotation highly recommends that all composers register with a Collective Management Organization and register for copyright. PanNotation does not assign copyright and also does not function as a Collective Management Organization.

How will I know when someone purchases my score?

PanNotation will inform users on a quarterly basis when their scores have been purchased. A user at any time can request this information and PanNotation will respond with a summary of purchases of the user’s score.

How often will I receive payment for the sales of my score?

Payments will be made to users twice a year.

Is my academic publication for sale?

No. The only items for sale on the site are music scores. All other materials are made available through our subscription service. A user can, however, make their article available for all users without a subscription, but this will need to be indicated once submitted for upload.
